Breakup advice

By blits On May 15, 2010 No Comments

Are you feeling heartbroken after being “dumped”? Are you feeling lonesome and even a little lost? I want you to know that there are others out there, just like you. We feel for you because we know exactly what pain and heart-ace you are experiencing.

I also truly believe that we are all on this earth with a purpose and that it is our duty to help each other. In doing so we actually are enriching ourselves as well as the universe.

A breakup need not mean a breakdown. Why not take this breakup and turn it around. Perhaps you can see it in a positive light. Unfortunately some of us, mostly women are by nature very sensitive and emotional people. This makes it a little more difficult and complicated. However there are a few things that one should remember. Here are a few points of advice from myself.

Never go into retreat or denial and try to hide from the world. You are only making things worse by doing this. And where will you get help or advice from if you crawl up and sit in the corner mopping about, feeling sorry for yourself.

So go on, get up, pull yourself together and say to yourself “I am going to make it! There are lots of people that love me and care about me in so many different ways. I am special.”

It is important to know that we are all different and have different needs. We will also therefore all react differently to a breakup. But we must bare in mind that no matter how difficult life may seem at this point in your life; at the same time you have been given inner strength to handle difficult situations like this.

By being single again, you have a new chance to seek out new love. You also now have the opportunity and time to figure out what it is that you really want in life and in your relationships. Think of this as “taking a break” from some of life’s little pressures. Time out, my time. If it is that you are secretly wishing you could make up with your ex, then that too is possible. But first things first. Most things simply must take the form of: starting at point one to get to point 10. You can’t just dive straight in and try to pick things up at point 10. Everything takes time and hard work.

My advice is that the fist step in managing your breakup would be is to sort yourself out. Find out what’s important to you and how you really feel in the inside. Are you truly in love with this person? Is what happened what you wanted or what the other person wanted? Why did things go so wrong? Only once you are truly certain and honest about how and what you feel, then you can move on to the next step.
